About Us

Dear Jesse S. Bobo Elementary School Families,

I could not be happier that I am able to WELCOME you and your student(s) back to the 2020-2021 school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to begin a new year full of love and learning! When your child enters our building, it will be a safe/nurturing environment where every day is focused on safety, student achievement, character development, and their social/emotional well-being. Our teachers are excited to see their returning students and meet their new ones. Our school theme will once again be The Power of I CAN! At Jesse Bobo Elementary, we believe in the power of I CAN and that all students CAN be readers, writers, problem solvers and communicators. It is an honor and privilege to educate your child, as they become the best student and person that they CAN be. As always, if you have any questions please contact the school at 864-576-2085 or email poguecw@spart6.org .

Your partner in education,

As your child’s principal I promise the following:

-        to do all I can to keep your child safe while at our school

-        to remember that each child is extremely special

-        to always love your child and treat him/her as I would want my children to be treated while in elementary school

-        to make all decisions that are in the best interest of the children in our school

-        to work with you to help your child receive the education that he/she needs and deserves.

As your partner in education, I ask that you agree to do the following for your child:

-        Establish a home learning environment that sets routines for study time, bedtime, and other daily activities

-        Make sure your child comes to school on time and ready to learn

-        Read to or with your child every day

-        Communicate with your child’s teachers

-        Attend parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and other school meetings

-        Encourage your child to follow school rules

As we reopen (see our D6 re-opening plan), we will continue to make safety our highest priority for our students and staff.  Some of our new safety measures will include:

-        Temperature checks for all students upon arrival

-        Face shields, masks, gloves, classroom disinfecting products & hand sanitizer provided for staff

-        Student desks placed at least 6 feet apart

-        Class sizes that allow for social distancing

-        Students and staff will wear masks when social distancing is not possible such as during class change, on school buses, etc.

-        Perfect attendance awards will be set aside to encourage students to stay home when sick

-        DHEC guidelines regarding quarantine and isolation will be strictly followed

-        Plexiglass and dividers available in areas and classrooms as needed

-        Enhanced cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting during the day and after school hours

-        Limiting on-campus visitors to parents on official business
